FAQS PAGE

Your manga rules! Way to go, fella!
Thank you. It's always nice to hear good comments about my work. If you'd like, you can always drop me an E-Mail.
Your manga stinks! You suck, pal!
I'm sorry you think that. We're all entitled to our decisions, but if yours if that of a negative manner, I'd rather not hear it. And don't use the excuse that I put myself down all the time, so that gives you the right to do so. It's true, I do think my drawing ability is horrible at times, but then again, so do countless other O.M.A.s.
Why do you call it a manga? You're not Japanese!
Well, I like to call it a manga because that's what I've modeled it after, if you couldn't tell with the Manga-ish style and the Japanese terms in some cases (Example: Kit-Chan. "Chan" is a name extension you give in Japan mostly for girls, as "Kun" would be for boys).
Can I use the manga on my site?
No. My work is copyrighted. You could get into a loooooot of trouble.
Why are you using other people's characters?
You say that as if I'm using them and claiming ownership of them. That is not the case. I know full well who they all belong to and have give the proper notice that all characters except for my own belong to their respective owners. I know, unlike many others, to give credit where credit is due.
Lina Inverse? Ranma? Sephiroth? WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!?
Yeah, most of the comics involve parodying other famous characters in the Manga and Squaresoft Universes. Do yourself a favor and do a little looking into some of the stuff I mention in the manga after or, preferably, before reading on. Only then will you get most of the jokes.
Can I be in the comic?
Sorry, but no. I have a hard enough time involving my characters in a fair cycle. Plus, if I'm making a parody, I've got a slew of other characters to incorporate as well. Besides, I'm happy with my cast.
Why are the Kids Next Door in the manga? They're not Manga characters!
Well, first of all, it's more Numbuh Three then the other Kids Next Door (Isn't it ironic that I hate the one everyone loves). And secondly, I have a bad history when it comes to making my own characters. You see, for many, many years, everytime I made my own character, some big animation name would always have a character that resembled mine in every way. Now, I didn't mind with everyone else, but then something happened after I made Kitty Navilos for the first time...shortly afterwards, Mr. Warburton, the guy who created Codename: Kids Next Door, debuted that show. And when I saw Numbuh Three, I flipped. This kid looked, for the most part, like Kitty. Black hair, oversized green sweater, the works. If not for the fact that she is Japanese (Got an e-mail correcting me on this. Thanks, Maverick and Indigo.) and does not wear cat ears and a tail, I would have been more libid than I already was.

I was mad as Hell because Kitty was my favorite character and shortly after creating her, she had been ripped off. But because I'm a low-brow jabroni bastard and Mr. Warburton is a animation tycoon, I can't do anything about it. So, I just did what I always do at times like this: make comics against the creations of the guys that ripped me off, mostly Numbuh Three. Sure, it's trite and a tad bit pathetic, but it makes me happy. Come on, I know I'm not the only guy that hates that show.
Why do Big Nasty, Nala, and Kitty look different around Squaresoft characters?
After playing the game Kingdom Hearts, I rather enjoyed how the Squaresoft characters got remodled for that game. So I (just like countless others artists, I'm sure) decided to do the same for Big Nasty, Nala, and Kitty. Since they were Kingdom Hearts tributes, I gave them Keyblades of their own. Hence, The Keyblade Three was born.

Also, since they were Kingdom Hearts tributes, I decided to change their looks whenever invovled in a volley shot that invovled Squaresoft. Seemed natural.
Your name is Alan Solivan, and the character's name is Alan Solivan, but you are the O.M.A....GUH?!?
Ah, I knew there would be confusion...listen, when I was making the characters, I decided it would be fun to give one of them my name, but not necesarrily BE me. Then confusion arose, so I invented my O.M.A. persona. So you see...

"O.M.A." Alan Solivan = The REAL me.
"Big Nasty" Alan Solivan = The manga character.
I don't like the name "Big Nasty". I think it is tasteless and disgusting. Why is he named that, you sicko!
Listen...the name "Big Nasty" is exactly that...a name. It means absolutly nothing. It was just a nickname that I got from my friends when I was in high school that I decided to give to the character Alan Solivan. If you are still offended after hearing that it doesn't mean what it sounds like, well...that's just a damn shame, ain't it now?
WHAT IN THE BLUE HELL ARE "VOLLEY SHOTS"?
Have you ever heard of somebody taking the opportunity to "fire volleys" at another? Basically, I was told it was another way of mocking them (They could be wrong...) The vast majority of the comics you'll see here pretty much mock everything, from life to the occasional manga or two. I am taking the time to fire some humorous volleys of his own, hence the name "Volley Shots."
Why don't you ever color your work?
I know my work would look good colored, but If I colored ALL of it, I wouldn't produce them as fast as I do. You understand, right? 'Course you do...besides, Mangas are greyscale by nature.
Why do use the girls more than the guys? Are you a perv?
No, I am not, nor am I lonely (FYI, I like being alone, so there). If you find yourself annoyed at this fact, then sorry, but I find more use for the females than I do the males. I mean, look at all the storylines I've cooked up because of them. And my comic isn't the only one who has a mostly-female oriented cast.
BASTARD! I thought you said you aren't putting any other people in the comic! Why is your friend Greg there, huh?!?
Okay, calm down! I know I don't put people who want to be in the comic in the comic, but have any of you been there for me through thick and thin? No. Greg, on the other hand, has and I am eternally grateful for a friend like him. If the world had more people like him in it, it would be a much better place, I swear to God, I really mean it. Anyhow, I can't think of any better way to pay him back than giving him a role (small as it is) in the comic, which he is a big fan of.
When does the site update?
With all the things going on in my life, it's hard to tell nowadays. Let's just leave it at it updates whenever I complete the making of a comic. It could be a day, could be a week. Who knows, but remember, I'll ALWAYS update.
Can I send in some Fanworks?
I encourage it. Just as long as you follow a few guidelines:
  1. CREDIT ME. I cannot stress this enough. "The Rogue's Gallery" is MY comic, not yours.
  2. Try and keep the characters in character.
  3. The pictures must be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format. If I see a BMP, I won't put it up until it comes to me in one of the formentioned formats.
  4. If you do a comic, keep profanity to a minimum, as little as it takes to make the comic happen. Words like ass, Hell, damn, and the like are okay, but if I see s**t, f**k, f*g, p***y, or anything like that, don't expect to see it on MY site. Also, if someone's gonna swear, let it be anyone but Kitty. If you ever noticed, she never swears. She's only nine, people!
  5. No vulgar pictures (I.E. Nude people, sex, etc.).
  6. If I get a picture of one of your guys doing something to one of mine (Killing them, making out with them, .ect.), It does not go up and you WILL get a nasty letter from me.
  7. I understand that not everyone's the greatest artist in the world, but at least TRY and make your picture look worthwhile. Don't send me a stick figure with four-feet pigtails and claim that it's Fayte or anything stupid like that.
  8. PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR WORK!!! If I don't see a name on whatever drawing you send, you'll forever be known as "????"...unless I remember your style or name from your email. I'm REALLY serious about this because I can't check my email without AOL knocking me off the computer anymore. So PLEASE follow this step.
  9. I'm not in control of what you draw for Fanart, but you will 99.9% of the time make me think you are awesome if you send me fanart of charactaers OTHER THAN Mr. O.M.A. I get more of him than any of the other Rogues and it REALLY makes me regret including him in the series. So please...I'm not saying you can't draw him, but make the attempt to draw the other characters as well. Believe it or not, they exist, too.
I'm sorry for being so strict, but that's the way it has to be sometimes...
Can you give me some advice with MY comic?
I'll always be more than happy to give your comic a read. But if you want me to critique you, well, I'll try and be as nice as I can without hurting anybody's pride as an artist. After all, I know what it feels like to have your work bashed on.
What's with the city setting you've been using nowadays?
Ahh, you mean Mangaverse Square. I figured instead of jumping from setting to setting, I use one place for all the Mangaverse inhabitants. Think of it like Traverse Town from "Kingdom Hearts".
Why does Sapphire's attire look different?
I haven't got the chance to explain this, but her bodysuit changes based on what mood she's in. If she's in a fighting mood, it turns into the bodysuit. Otherwise, it reverts to the street clothes. It's a little trick she learned during Season Two.
Do you have any rules for Sprite Sheets?
As with everything, yes I do:
  1. If you're going a make a custom of a TRG character, PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU, make it look like you put some damn effort into it.
  2. If you're going to submit a sheet of a Mangaverse character, I only accept one of the following:
    1. A relatively new custom sprite.
    2. A newly ripped sheet.
I've seen the majority of sheets for Mangaverse characters, so I'll KNOW which one's stolen and which isn't. If I do get a stolen one, and YOU know it is, send me an E-Mail and I'll have it removed immediatlly, if not sooner.
  3. If you're going to submit a sheet of a Mangaverse character, I only accept those of characters that have appeared in TRG.
Example: Belldandy, Inuyasha, THEY are a FEW characters who have appeared in TRG.
  4. Do not, DO NOT, DAMMIT, DO NOT send me a sprite of YOUR character. Unless he/she has been in TRG, I will not post it.
  5. I accept Sprite SHEETS. Not little pictures of a certain sprite saying "HerE Iz Da SprTE, POOT eet upP o MailBOMB EbiiiLLL!" If a sheet doesn't have at least more than ten sprites in it, it doesn't go up.
  6. I ONLY accept .GIF or .PNG file formats. Anything else: Forget it.
If any other rules come up, I'll put them here.
I linked your site, can you link mine?
I get this a lot. Sorry, but I don't link sites unless I REEEEEEEEEEALLY like them.
I sent a fanart to you, but I don't see it up in the fanart section! WHY?!?
You didn't follow my rules, that's why. I'm gonna be a lot more strict about what I do and don't put up these days. If I like it, it goes up. If I don't, better luck next time.
Why do you torture Cream so much in "Author Space"? Besides, it's kinda getting old.
When I first started AS, I did a few of the Cream torture bits not knowing how much it's been done already. A lot of my older readers liked it, and newer readers were attracted because of it, so it kind of stuck. I know by now, everyone's done something horrible to Cream and it's levels beyond old hat, but that's why I often stray away from it. Besides, why do you think I did APA Episode 5, eh?
Do people OTHER THAN Manga/Video Game characters live in Mangaverse Square?
Yes. I may not show it a lot, but other people do live in Mangaverse Square. Normal civilians. Do we care about them? No. They're just there to add atmosphere. Kinda like Station Square in the Sonic Adventure games. Where'd Station Square come from? Where'd all the humanS some from? We don't know. They're just there. And I think this point has already been proven with the bank teller woman and Ryno in TRG Episode 189.
Wait a minute...that's already happened in that anime/manga...and so and so's never been able to do that before...they don't know each other...I'm so lost...
Long answer: I try to keep some of the anime/video game elements as true to form as I can, going by what I know. If something new pops up that I didn't know about changes what I made in one of my series, I'm gonna stay with what I've done. Especially if it's something SO incignificant as Urd slapping dominos down with her left hand when it should be her right or something.

Short answer: My comic, my rules. You don't like? Too bad. Find another webcomic. One that will bend to your will.

Please teach me how to draw like you! Make a tutorial, something, ANYTHING!!!
I suck at giving directions, so I can't help you there. All I can do is point you to a few of my favorite drawing tutorial sites, namely PolyKarbon and BakaNeko.com. Hopefully, they can help you get started.

There... I think I covered everything...
